Meet Clutch

Post by Lttlcheeze »

Meet Clutch he just turned 2, and is a Dutch/Lab Mix.
Image

Image

He likes car rides, but he always has to be close to me. This is how he sits on every ride.
Image

He LOVES swimming. But is afraid of the garden hose, and the kiddy pool with 2" of water in it.
Can't figure that one out.

I has a stick!! :D

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.

Welcome to the forum!!

I'm wondering, was DS/lab mix a guess of his breed, or do you know that actual mated pair? I would have guessed him as something similar, but am curious if someone made the cross intentionally...etc.

I adopted him from the SPCA, and they told me he was a Lab/Shepherd Mix, and they at one time had both mom & dad there, but dad was gone by the time I got Clutch. Mom was definately a lab. I figured they said Shepherd because most ppl aren't as afraid of them as they are of what I thought he was mixed with, Pit or Boxer. It wasn't until about a week or so ago that I discovered the DS breed, and after some research realized that's definately what he is mixed with. Plus he has a lab head, and feet (webbed toes), i'm almost 100% sure he is a DS/Lab mix.

Awww, very cute!

Not that I am an expert but I would say it's a Lab/DS mix. Nothing of him looks like a Boxer or Pit.

But I am biased. Black Labs & DS are my favorite breeds.

Maybe we should try to get it registered with the AKC, if they have Labradoodles and such, why not a Dutch Labrador?

Tell us about yourself: Hi.....my name is Angela. I have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter. All of my dogs (and cats) are rescues. I have a puppy that we just adopted that I think could be at least part Dutch Shepherd. We also have a 2 year old pug/min pin mix and an 11 year old border collie and possible lab mix.

So cute! His ears are like my Roxie's. I was told she was a lab mix but her head isn't broad enough so we don't really know what else is in there.
