The theme for January 2014: Friends

The usual rules:

1) Submit only one photo.

2) By submitting the photo you are stating you have rights to the photo

3) Please put the canine's name in your post

4) contest will be open until around the end of the month - voting will begin sometime after that.

5) Please have a Dutch Shepherd in the photo.

Tell us about yourself: I've had Belgian Malinois for years at my folks. I just got married, and a friend of mine who does search and rescue, had been keeping an eye out for Mali puppies for me. He came across a 9 month old Dutch Shepherd female pup who needed a home. She doesn't have the nerves to do the search and rescue she was intended for, but is perfect pet material. She's enough of a challenge to be alot of fun :)

Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. i thought the exact same thing as Stacy when i read your comment.

i have virtually no photos of me with the new dogs, so my choices are various pics of the dogs being strangely and wonderfully intimate [ which one? can i get help? ] or a photo of Xander commiserating with my assistant's wife as he walked away down the driveway [ just taking a phone call, but Xander thought it was the end of the world ].

Actually, just noticed one of the rules about needing to have a "Dutch shepherd" in the photo...Does Rufus count since we don't really know? If not, I have one of Maiya I can submit. :)

Tell us about yourself: I just got a rough coated Dutch shepherd pup a few days ago and am looking forward to learning more about this great breed! I also have sheep,dexter cattle,two Anatolian shepherd livestock guardian dogs, an Amstaff (who is thrilled to finally have a friend to play with) and two elderly long coated chihuahuas.

So this is my submission for "friends"... I thought about submitting a picture of Titus and I...and then one of him and his many dog friends. But last night as I went into my bedroom I saw him cuddled up with his favorite (and my favorite) stuffed animal. As you can see the lions hair is all pushed to the side from where he was laying on it. Lol so with that being said this is his friend the he loves to cuddle with. The one soft toy he does not destroy haha enjoy the cuteness overload! :D :DSlove:
