- Tell us about yourself: Names Rosie, 19 from london. Just recently got a female puppy DS and was looking for other people who are DS owners as they are very far and few between in the UK (Everyone seems to think she is a GS cross and wont believe me when I say DS because they have never heard of the breed before lol)
Dolly's Dad
Just remembered i have these pictures of Dolly's dad, the breeder sent me them before i went to pick her up. There was also a video on youtube of her dad which i'll try and find for your guys
I'll try and get some recent pictures of the one and only Dolly soon

Looks like big girl. Beautiful face. In the photo with the gate, where is she?
Though I can only hope to become the person who my animals believe I am, the things that they have taught me have made me a better human being. ~~~Sharon~~~

heres the video link to the dad, and i'm not sure how "legit" the guy was with how he trained his dogs, but maybe i'm just a bit green when it comes to training like this because i've only ever had dogs as family pets so never been around any of this. http://www.youtube.com/user/sujayk9#p/u/20/RLPg9ZUtNtE

Re: Dolly's Dad
OMG...so sorry. I shouldn't read a post then take a phone call. If her dad's that much of a looker, can't wait to see what the "one and only Dolly" looks like.
How'd she get the name? Or did I miss this, too, somewhere?

Re: Dolly's Dad
Haha thats alright, no u didn't miss the reason for me calling her Dolly, well when ever i've had "scary" looking dogs i always like to contradict it with a REALLY unscary name lol I had a all black gsd before and called her Dot. Don't ask why i do it but its just my thing i suppose

Its like the Huge guy named "tiny" LOL. Her father is beautiful and looks like a good working dog. My ring trainer used to also train Police dogs and he would do things like that so the dog would bite with anything happening to him

Haha yeah exactly like that! Yeah her dad is lovely, she probably wont be as big being a female but that suits me as im on 5'4
Oh right, like i said i'd never had any experience with any training like that so wasn't sure if it was the "done thing" but thats for the insight!

Nice looking dad, he does not look like a "van Leeuwen" to me
Now I'm even more curious!

Does that mean (no offense!) that your pup has no registration papers? Or just not yet?

Re: Dolly's Dad
Regarding registration papers: I happened across a "DS breeder" out west (Utah?) on the web. Their first disclaimer was that because they are not a recognized breed, no papers can be provided. That doesn't make any sense to me, but my knowledge of breeding/breeders isn't up to snuff. To me, it sounded like someone who is willing to take the money for a "breed" but won't/can't back it up and so provides a disclaimer that sounds reasonable...but that's just me and my lack of knowledge speaking.

Re: Dolly's Dad
Boy, what a pile of poo! Perhaps they meant that no AKC papers could be provided, but they should have stated it that way if so. Sounds fishy to me (we need a holding your hose iconRaven wrote:Regarding registration papers: I happened across a "DS breeder" out west (Utah?) on the web. Re: Dolly's Dad
She hasn't got any reg papers, and i might be being really dumb here but why do i need them? lol Because to be honest i'm 100% positive she's a DS but i really wouldn't care if she turned out to be cross with something else, so the pedigree aspect doesn't bother me and i've never had papers for any of my other dogs. Like I said i may be being dumb but whats the actual point of them.
p.s i'm only so confused by this i suppose because all my other dogs have come from shelters and its never even come up.

It really probably only matters if you were planning to breed her or compete in various venues. Otherwise, if she is just your pet dog that you love - no papers needed for thatRosieCoppolo wrote:She hasn't got any reg papers, and i might be being really dumb here but why do i need them? lol Because to be honest i'm 100% positive she's a DS but i really wouldn't care if she turned out to be cross with something else, so the pedigree aspect doesn't bother me and i've never had papers for any of my other dogs.
